 Welcome

Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time for many of us when help is needed from a certified professional to cope with some of life’s challenges. I am a psychotherapist and natural medicine practitioner in Galway, on the west coast of Ireland, and I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. I use a holistic approach which considers the body-mind-spirit connection and I tailor therapy to each individual's needs.
I work with clients in Ardrahan village and at Galway Community Counselling in Ballybane. I also work remotely via zoom or Skype.

About me

Since I was a teenager I have been interested in natural approaches to healing mind and body. For many years I have personally experienced the therapeutic potential of art and natural medicine. I began my career as an artist and teacher. My interest in health, particularly the emotional factors in both mental and physical chronic conditions, led me to then study natural medicine and later psychotherapy. I now integrate these modalities in a holistic approach to working with others who are experiencing mental, emotional and physical health issues.

My aim is always to provide a safe and confidential space where each client can be welcomed as a unique individual, where their experiences and challenges will be met with empathy and compassion and where together we can find their path to better health and greater freedom.

"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know."

About Counselling & Psychotherapy

Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious, are going through a time of transition, illness, or have experienced a bereavement. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support.

Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and can help people to understand and change any unhelpful patterns which may be causing difficulties. It also helps to identify and develop your inner resources, encouraging self-compassion and resilience.

My aim is ultimately to help clients to find balance and harmony, facilitating their innate ability to grow and flourish on a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual level. This is achieved by providing an environment of safety, empathy, presence, and compassion within the therapeutic relationship.

I work in a holistic and integrative way using a variety of psychotherapy approaches including Gestalt, Person-Centred, art therapy, body psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems and psychosynthesis. I also teach mindfulness, visualisation and  relaxation tools to support you in your everyday life.

I provide psychotherapy to individuals aged 18 years and over.

 About Natural Medicine

NATURAL HEALING - GENTLE AND LASTING

Another very important aspect of my practice is the use of natural medicine which can be an addition to talk therapy, or used on its own to support the healing process and alleviate symptoms. Homeopathy, herbs, flower essences and dietary advice are provided to people of all ages from babies to the elderly and can support the healing process in cases of physical emotional and mental illness, and is particularly useful in chronic conditions. Natural remedies can work gently yet effectively and have no negative side effects. They can be used in conjunction with conventional medication.

"The highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health; that is, the lifting and annihilation of the disease in its entire extent in the shortest, most reliable, and least disadvantageous way, according to clearly realizable principles."

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (founder of homeopathy)
